You know, with the guy working 14 years for her love & whatnot?
I prefer to be Leah. Funny enough, Rachel is one of my middle names. lol.
Leah, was unloved by Jacob. She suffered. She was the plain Jane, a nobody compared to her sis. But where she was unloved by man, she was favoured by God.
And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. - Genesis 29:31
Leah’s lineage produced many great kings & priests, that included the Levites. Leah is known as the foremother of the Tribe of Judah. Her womb was responsible for the Davidic royalty. That line of Judah produced our Messiah. The Bible mentions many times that He was of that lineage.
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Rev 5:5
God has a thing for the small people. The unloved. The overlooked.
In Deut 7:7-8 God explains to Jacob’s descendants: the Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Leah had had her 4 sons quickly:
- Reuben—”It is because the Lord has seen my misery. Surely my husband will love me now.”
- Simeon—”Because the Lord heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too.”
- Levi—”Now at last my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.”
- Judah—”This time I will praise the Lord.”
She was still needing her’s husband’s love. You notice with each of the sons, she named them accordingly. hoping she would get his love. However, it didn’t change much. When she named Judah, by this time, she had gone from “oh I am nobody cause I’m not loved by the one I want” to “God loves me & that is ENOUGH, so I will praise Him”. She learnt to let God love her and as I am writing this, I think God is letting me know that I must take His love for me seriously. She learned to seek Him & not man.
While you may be overlooked by a lot of people, God sees you & wants you to chase after Him. He wants you to let accept His love. He wants to mould you into royalty. Well, this is the point where fuzz is coming to my brain lol. I hope you got what I was saying.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.”
- Josua 1:9
Stay Close to Him.
Place your heart in the hands of the One who created it.
"Like birds hovering, so the Lord of hosts will protect His people; he will protect and deliver it; he will spare and rescue it."
- Isaiah 31:5
Say to those who have an anxious heart: “Be strong and fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”
- Isaiah 35:4
Grass dries up, and flowers wither, but the word of our God will last forever.
- Isaiah 40:8
Christ is my hope.
- Isaiah 40:8
The Lord can be trusted to make you strong and protect you from harm.
- 2 Thessalonians 3:3
"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." (Romans 12:1)
The Christian life is about taking ourselves off the throne and putting God on the throne.
His love is true.
God doesn’t wait for a person to be pure and unblemished before He redeems them.
Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son;
and if a son, then an heir by the aid of God, through Christ.
- Galatians 4:7
