Peter told Jesus that he would never ever deny Him, yet when Jesus was arrested, Peter did exactly that: he denied Him. I think sometimes, we are adamant in our minds that we know the truth completely, or at least a part of the truth. But sometimes our actions let us down, and we realise that sometimes the knowledge isn’t fully there in our hearts. We should try and write the truth of the gospel on ‘the tablets of our hearts’ so that we won’t be deterred from our faith.
"1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip — he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” Psalm 121 (NIV)
The more God reveals who He is to me, the more I love being with Him.
Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
“20 Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?
21 It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing, concealed even from the birds in the sky.
22 Destruction and Death say, “Only a rumor of it has reached our ears.”
23 God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells,
24 for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
25 When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters,
26 when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm,
27 then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.
28 And he said to the human race, “The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” ” Job 28:20-28 (NIV)
A day without prayer is a day we foolishly believe we have under control.
- Me: today's been so intense, talked about so many deep things about God and discussed so much with my friend, help my brain is a mush
- The first verse of today's bible in a year passage: The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 NIV)
- Me: well I couldn't ask for a more relevant verse than that! God is so amazing!

I don’t know many Atheists, but the few that I do know are really obnoxious. They make it their duty to make me feel stupid for believing in God.
And obviously, I know all Atheists aren’t like that, but my approach to Atheists has always been one that I feel correctly portrays my views on life and the existence of God:
"We’re all in this together and none of us is completely 100% sure about anything. But I have built my life on the principles in this book and it has made the most sense to me. We both have things we’re not certain of and we both have things that we are confused about. But I have joy. I have peace. I have deliverance from life’s troubles. And you don’t understand how badly I want you to have it too."
idk that’s just how I see it.
I have met atheiests who are bullies, and I have met atheists who are tolerant of believers from all religions. They are no different than any other religious believer in behaviour… its just the bullies who get more attention.
